Our technicians function as the veterinary analog of nurses in human hospitals. They assist the doctors in providing high quality medical care to our patients.
Joni has worked at Heights Veterinary Clinic since September of 2002. She is HVC’s technician team leader. She has been a technician for over 30 years and is a dental procedure guru. Known as “mother” by the staff she is who the team leans on for any problems or questions that may arise. Joni is the number one fan of her son, Jared and his musical talent. She also has two four legged children named Clover and Madison.
Sandy is a vet tech who enjoys taking care of your family pet. She loves cats and dogs but mainly cats at home. She has been giving outstanding care to pets here at the clinic since 1999. Sandy has been in the vet tech field for 30 years and also assists the doctors in surgeries and dentals.
Larry has been with us since June 2001. He started working in the kennel, caring for the animals, and then moved to assisting the doctors as a veterinary technician. He was born and raised in the Heights area. he owns 2 dogs… a lab mix and a very unique looking Corgi / Pitbull mix.
Mark was born and raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He moved to Houston in 1975. He has been with the clinic since 1996. He has been in the veterinary field for 30 years. He enjoys seeing animals and socializing with the clients. He owns 7 dogs, Amy, Schatzie, Casper, Charlie, Shorty, Benjamin Button, and Lottie.
Lauren joined HVC in 2014. Lauren’s compassion for animals is what drew her to veterinary medicine during college. She has now been in the industry for eight years. Lauren attended Baylor University receiving a BS in Environmental Science. She is the proud mom of a Shih Tzu name Chowder, and five cats; Lambert, Gizmo, Pirate, Toshio, and Juliette.
Rebecca started shadowing Dr. Hendrix at the age of 16. While she used to help out only during the holidays; you will now see her around all year long. She attends the University of Houston and has an interest in Public Health. During her free time she enjoys spending time with her twin sister and exercising. Rebecca has pets of her own including her German Shepherd Audwin, and her twin sister’s Husky, Lupin.
Liza joined HVC in July 2015. Liza received her Veterinary Assistant Certification in the Fall of 2015. While she is not taking care of your fur babies at work, she is caring for her two children at home. She loves spending time with family and friends, listening to music, and dancing. She is the owner of two dogs, Bambi and Bentley and a cat named Mr. Grey.
