Heights Veterinary Clinic, PC offers dental cleaning services to our patients with tartar buildup. We use a Pro-sonic® ultrasonic dental cleaner to remove the tartar, and then polish the teeth to prolong the effect of the cleaning. Tartar buildup does damage the enamel of the teeth, so the tartar builds up again faster than it did originally, but brushing the teeth can slow its progress significantly. We must anesthetize the patient to perform a dental cleaning, but they are usually able to go home the same day.
